From Paddack to Piece!
This unique knitwear is 100% wool and is handcrafted at every stage of the creation process.
The couple, Annie and Jon, situated in the North-East of Scotland have a small flock of Shetland sheep on a small croft. They not only look after the sheep - whose fleece will be used - but they produce the unique knitwear at every meticulous stage. Starting by shearing the fleece using traditional hand clippers, washing by hand the fleece beofre allowing it to dry in the sun and wind.
The dry fleece is then teased, carded and hand spun to create uniqie textural soft wool. The finished spun wool is washed again by hand before being knitted (again by the couple themselves) into wonderful, often whimsical, one-off pieces.
Annie and Jon are incredibly proud to be a tiny part of Scotland's sustainable rural economy.
This "Funky Top" is knitted using a 15mm needle and contains drop stitches to develop the textural open work, creating an unusual, intriguing, fun, and high quality woollen piece of art!
The fit is small and would comfortably fit size 6 to 12
